Need nice budget lodging for 4 in May 08

The Victoria is now coming in at $181 USD and that was what I was planning to book. With the lousy USD, can I find a nice B&B / INN / hotel in Budapest for around $100 per night? We are staying 3 nights and can't do more than a flight of stairs. (ah, the golden years!)

Try Priceline. I got the Marriott a couple of years ago for $66.

Check out the accorhotels website. We stayed at the Ibis Centrum in May '07 and paid under $100. Just looked at the accor website and the Ibis Centrum is 55 euros in May '08. The hotel was nothing fantistic, but it was clean, comfortable and on a street closed to traffic with a lot of cafes and restaurants. Don't pay extra for the breakfast, as there is a place just outside the front door of the hotel that serves breakfast outside on that closed street.

Brahmama, HI!!! we meet again!!
I'll be very interested in what hotel you decide on.
I'm just doing a search for a friend who is going next Oct.
I found him a decent hotel a couple of years ago, where he stayed a couple of times and was happy, but he'd like a change.

Oh, that makes me think.. let me look up the hotel where he stayed...
I'll post again.

Brahmama, the place where my friend stayed might be a bit too budget for you taste.
It's called Radio Inn. You might want to go to Trip Advisor to read reviews. It's really cheap... but my friend was happy enough there a couple of times.
But he does want me to find him something different this time.

Let me know what you decide, please.
Good luck.
Great to see you are still on the move!!

Kodi,
I sent you an email about 2 weeks ago. You must not have received it so I'll resend it!

Oxymoron? nice, charming, cheap, budget...
European cities have hundreds of unlisted and unadvertised lodging places. City after city offers sleeping rooms in private homes. The USA use to have them , the sign in the window read, 'tourist rooms'. Now they are, 'bed and breakfast'. Bite the bullet, first night, hotel. Spend time the next morning finding affordable lodging!

An update:
I have booked the Bellevue B&B for May 08 - has great reviews and they are very pleasant to deal with.

I'll be back writing reviews like mad, so I'll review this B&B as well, for the information of future budget travelers!
