Need Munich public transportation info
Could anyone tell me the best way to get from the airport to the Marriot Hotel located on Berliner Strasse 93? We'll be getting there around 10:00 pm and it would help to know our way around before hand.
Thanks a lot!

When I stayed at that hotel, I just took a cab - expensive but with the jet lag and not knowing the city, it was worth it. There is a u-bahn stop very near but I don't know if you can get from the airport to the hotel without making a connection somewhere.

Pimps- I stayed at this hotel last week. You have several choices from the airport-
If you want to ride the subways, take S8 to Marienplatz and change to U6 to Nordfriedhof. Take the exit opposite the way the train faces. It is a 2 block walk going West to the Marriott. The first block is a wide pedestrian only street and you will walk by the back of the Renaissance hotel.
Next, a Lufthansa bus stops a block from the Nordfriedhof U-Bahn entrance. But the Lufthansa bus may not run that late at night- The cost of the bus and the S-bahn is about the same - the bus is 9 Euros per person. If you take Budman's advice, the taxi from the Bahnhoff will run about 20 Euros. Add that to the cost of the S-Bahn to get to the main Bahnhof and you might as well catch a taxi directly from the airport if there are 2 or 3 traveling together.
Lastly, I caught a small mini-bus from the main exit at the airport to the Garching-Hochbruk station at the end of the U-6 line a few years ago. This is the line that takes you directly to the Nordfriedhof U-Bahn station. I don't know if (a) the mini-bus still runs from the airport to the Garching-Hochbruk station or (b) if it runs that late. But the TI counter in the airport could provide answers to these questions. Personally, arriving that late at night with baggage, I would take a taxi directly from the airport if there are 2 or more traveling together and you have never been to this hotel before.
Lift one for me at Champion's and have a good time-

I have traveled between the Munich airport and the city several times.
Last year and this, my easiest method was to take the Lufthansa bus to one of two stops, Nordfriedhof or the main train station, and then take a cab from there.
The Lufthansa bus stops at Terminal A, and the new terminal before going downtown. It formerly stopped at Terminal D, but that is no longer true.
The driver sells tickets for cash, one way or round trip, and he or she will radio ahead for a cab to meet you.
Last month it worked like clockwork. The cab pulled in right behind the bus at Nordfriedhof and the transfer of luggage was very quick.
The bus trip takes about 40 minutes. I find handling the luggage on the bus is much easier because you put the heavy stuff in a baggage compartment underneath the bus before getting on.
The driver locks the door before he leaves and opens it as soon as the bus arrives at one of its stops.
The one way fare is 9€ round trip was as I recal 15.50€
