So here's an update. I called my hotel (Starhotels Anderson) and talked to a very nice gentleman who was willing to help me. He first had to verify I couldn't purchase online (frustrating when paying for an international call). After we confirmed no tickets were available online, he asked me to email the date/price for the show I wanted. He said he would send someone down to the box office for me, so I have my fingers crossed!
Again, I'll post an update when I have more info. Thanks for your support and advice - this might work out after all.

Just in case anyone was wondering about my "saga", I've given up on Don Giovanni. I got a response from the hotel telling me I couldn't buy tickets online because it was sold out (no kidding...) so I wrote back trying to be more clear in my request for them to check locally. I never heard back. I'm trying to not let this color my opinion of the hotel yet, but I am keeping my eyes peeled for another hotel as it made me a bit mad.
Anyway, on to the conclusion. It turns out there's a concert with the Filarmonica della Scala and Daniel Harding conducting on November 13th. It's not opera, but it looks like a pretty good collection of music (Wagner, Bach, Strauss, etc), so I bought tickets for that instead. We're in a box, third level so I hope the seats are good!
The purchasing process was relatively painless and easy, so now I just need to cross my fingers and hope the tickets come in. Thanks to all who helped and felt my pain.
