Need Help: Thalys to Paris Nord, then what?

We're arriving on Thalys Paris Nord and need to connect with a Metro (or whatever public transportation) to a stop near our hotel, Marriott Rive Gauche, 17 Boulevard Sainte Jacques. We've not attempted this before, so not sure if these stations are connected or nearby, or if another method of getting to our hotel would be better. We're arriving early afternoon.

According to www.pagesjaunes.fr, your hotel is here:

or about 400m from the Denfert-Rochereau metro station, which you could reach directly by metro line 4 or bus 38 from the Gare du Nord (direction porte d'Orleans):

Thank you very much! Especially thanks for such a speedy reply.
This was one of those little details I forgot about, but it looks rather easy.

It would be slightly faster (fewer stops) to take the RER B from Gare du Nord to Denfert-Rochereau. For a zoomable map of the Metro & RER system, go here: http://tinyurl.com/6ypurt. Whether you choose Metro, RER, or bus, the fare will be €1.60.

Hi Ch,

You can get directions for public transportation between any two addresses at www.ratp,fr.

Tim, thank, I'll check that.

Ira, I've tried a few times, keep getting an error message. Might be busy or something. But thank you.

As long as you're answering questions, do you know what the major difference is in Comfort 1 and Comfort 2 on Thallys?

We leave Wednesday, can't believe I don't have all the answers yet.
Thanks!

That Métro map is a huge PDF file, so it takes a while to load. When you get to the RATP window at Gare du Nord, ask the clerk for the Grand Plan de Paris and you'll get a map with Métro lines on one side and buses on the other. These are on line here:

Comfort 1 - seating 2+1
Comfort 2 - seating 2+2

1 has wider seats, more legroom, and a modest meal service.

Don't know how much luggage you have but the Marriott is downhill all the way from the D-R station. Very easy.

To all of you, thanks so much. It just amazes me you all have so much knowledge and experience with these little details. And it is those little details that make such a difference while traveling.

Two days and we're off........

Thanks again.
