The Ste Peres is not on a particularly noisy street and the hotel is not noisy at all. Most of the rooms are around an inner courtyard away from the street in any case. We have never had a problem with noise.

Check Hotel de Varenne , 44 Rue de Bourgogne in the 7th quiet safe neighborhood
Have stayed there 4 times and love it! Room with walk-in shower , refrigerator. Everything was spotless! Lovely courtyard to sit and relax.

Boulangerie just 2 doors away - wonderful quiches , breads
Small grocery store just across the street. Handy for buying bottled water and snacks. Friendly service. I bought yogurt - salesclerk gave me a spoon. How sweet.
Easy walk to Metro and Musee d' Orsay

I agree with Hotel de Varenne, we have stayed there twice and will stay there again. Loved it.
I was reluctant to recommend it because we had a shower over tub both times and I wasn't sure if they had walk in showers.

I also liked that small grocery store TravelParis23, we sometimes bought a couple of cold beers there on the way back from a long day of sight seeing and enjoyed them in the courtyard.
Plus I bought yogurt, water and other snacks and appreciated having a fridge in the room to put them in.

The boulangerie also has delicious macarons and other yummy pastries.

Also just a couple of blocks from the Rodin museum.

Before this is over, just about every hotel in Paris will have been examined. I don't know if there's any truth to it or not, but someone pretty reliable on TA has said that the OP has been asking about hotels in Paris for 2+ years. IF that's the case, enough is enough! Get earplugs and make a choice. Even if it isn't the case, just make a choice.

Hello poss. Try checking out http://www.lodjee.com/. The company offers nice apartment rentals in Paris and the ambience inside the apartments are cosy and homey and the view outside is scenic and beautiful. I've been there before and I had a great time.

Let's not malign the OP. She has posted in the past about other cities, looking for quiet hotels with large beds, true, but she and her husband are traveling into their 80's, and if she is on a quest for comfort, more power to her. Her questions here have been polite, and unlike others, she does come back and respond. I wish her the best in finding the almost impossible dream.

Hello again to all the kind responders, if any are still on board. I was so angry, hurt, exasperated with St Circ's comment that I didn't want to return.

Indeed, we had inquired about Paris hotels in the past. Perhaps this very unkind person does not understand that as people age (anytime, actually) one can fall ill, be out of commission for some time, not be able to travel. My husband is elderly, and we've had some setbacks in recent years. We both know that soon we'll not be able to travel at all. We have a strong and understandable wish to be able to spend some days in Paris before we're "on the other side of the grass," so once we're strong(ish) again, I set about trying to make plans and hoping for the best.

I have booked Relais Saint Germain for four nights in June. I continue to be concerned about the reports of noise (we're light sleepers), and for sure I wish I could have found a suitable place that was less costly. They have king bed, fine stand up shower, excellent reviews, etc. I followed through on every suggestion, and greatly appreciated them.

I think you will like the Relais, no longer in my budget but I always enjoyed it when I stayed there. The staff is very helpful--taxis, dinner reservations.

A place where the breakfast is worth the extra price, if not included with the room. You will also get priority seating in their adjacent restaurant for lunch or dinner.

Don't worry about the noise so much. Paris isn't noisy like NYC. And bring ear plugs. You'll love Paris.

What I have done re: the noise b/c I am also a very light sleeper--is 2 things:

1) If the hotel room has individual fan/AC controls, I set the fan to ON even if no AC is needed. With certain kinds of units, this will run the fan continuously and provide non-stop white noise.

2) I found an app for my iPhone/iPad---altho I am sure that it is available for other devices--which is called White Noise Ambience. There is a free one and a paid one ($2.99, I think). I only had the free one at first and then signed on for the paid one, and IMO, the free one is fine…no need to pay, but the cost is minimal.

In Florence last year, there was no fan/AC system that would run continuously in our room and my white noise from the phone, which I would just leave plugged into the charger, so as not to run down the battery, served very well. Our room was just off a little side corridor, rather near the front desk/lobby and the white noise was perfect. Also, unlike the room fan, it can be adjusted to a volume that suits you.

I am not the OP, but just a side note to those who recommend ear plugs. I WISH that they worked for me! Any kind I have tried just crackle continuously and seem to interact badly with my chronic tinnitus. So I know from firsthand experience that not everyone can use earplugs. If anyone knows of a kind or brand that have worked for them, I would love to hear about them. However, most people recommend those small disposable foam ones and those do not work in my ears.

Hotel7Eiffel was quiet and I think we had a king size bed. Another suggestion for noise reduction is using a white noise app called Sleep Pillow which we have on our iPhones and iPads.

Poss, we have stayed at the Relais Saint Germain many times. Yes it is in a busy location but I have never noticed any noise or has my DH who is a light sleeper. I hope you like it as much as we do.
