I called Kilronan House on phone this morning after no replies to my various e-inquiries, including O'Niell's. They would book us (family with 2 kids) a quad for 228 euros/night. 76 euros per person, half price for kids. I had to decline for the time being due to the price. Dublin lodging so far strikes seems more expensive than London or Paris. Is it possible that Kilronan House is worth $276/night, even with a lovely breakfast?

Out of our league, I'm afraid. We'll try O'Neill's again. We have until September, so no rush.

The lodging cost problem I'm finding with websearch for Dublin is they consider 12 and older an adult, and charge per person at most places. So whether we're a family with one real job among us or a bunch of orthodontists/divorce lawyers/CEO's we'd be charged the same. Our daughters being 14 and 16, with nary a paper route between them, it comes out pricey. Ireland's generally a plainer country, or was when I was there in the last century, and the plainer and cheaper places just don't come off so well on websites, I guess.

Fot that price you could get two rooms in Jury's Christchurch. No I do not think any B&B is worth that for one night....its appalling

Thanks everyone. After endless debates on O'Neills vs. Trinity we went with O'Neills. We booked it for 250 Euros for 2 nights in August. Cheers and thanks!

Half the price of the other place, great! I'm glad

I'll be posting a review of the place when I go in July...

O'Neill's was ok, but ask for a room facing the courtyard if you dislike traffic noise at night
