Need advice on Naples and Sorrento

Hello,

My husband and I are going to Italy in the Spring, late feb to early march. We are staying in Sorrento and Naples. The only thing is that I have heard that the weather might be cold around this time? Also, we were able to book everything cheaper seperately rather than on a tour. But how do we get from Naples airport to Sorrento? What is a reasonable taxi price?

There is a shuttle bus (Curreri) between the airport and Sorrento for 6E.

FWIW, we were in Naples this year in late January and were pleasantly surprised. Mostly, the weather was in the 50's (nights got colder, of course) Very pleasant; I only had to wear a light coat, and even occasionally took it off when I was wearing a sweater and walking a lot. Twice we ate outside for lunch (near the water) and were still fine as long as we had sweaters. Don't know if that was an anomaly or not, though. And I guess cold is relative, 'cause we came from NY. What are the average temps listed on the weather sites - that'll give you a little bit of a clue.

This seems too early for Sorrento or the AC. Still quite chilly, a lot of things may be closed or on short hours - basically an out of season beach resort. Naples will still have things to do - and Pompeii, Hercanuleum etc - but would not spend more than a day on the Sorrento/AC - when you get one with nice weather.

Hi f,

>What about the weather? Is it a good time to go? <

You are rather early for the AC.

Weather will be clear, sunny, mild, grey, chilly, windy, rainy.

Ferries will be on a reduced schedule.

Enjoy your visit.

ok, thanks for the advice. If this is too early for AC, where else in Italy can we go for a week that is warmer?
Thanks, Fatty

Sicily should be warmer... but February and March are not beach weather months in Italy. We were on the Amalfi Coast in mid- to late- May and although the temperature was lovely during the day (70s to low 80s), the water was still much too cold to go swimming.
