Travel from Sorrento to Naples
I'm traveling Italy from North to South in October (Venice -- Florence/Tuscany -- Rome -- Sorrento). My return flight leaves from Naples, so I'm wondering if I should be concerned about getting from Sorrento to Naples for my flight at noon. I've read that there is a bus and then train that I'll need to take. My return flight is on a Sunday. Should I arrange a cab ahead of time? Should I be fine with public transportation as long as I leave 3-4 hours before my flight? Any advice is much appreciated!

Depends on if your hotel is really in the center of Sorrento or in the outskirts - and you need bus to get to a train to Naples Cenrale and then to get to the airport.
Also, what time does your airline require you to check in for a noon flight? If it's 9 am you might want to arrange a cab.

If you have to depart Sorrento early anyway, so not having another morning there, why not go to Naples the evening before. Have some great food, enjoy a bit of exploring the next morning and catch a quick taxi to the airport.

When we were in Sorrento two years ago we took the Curreri bus from the train station in Sorrento right to the Naples airport. It was 10 euro per person.

Here's the Curreri airport run link.
http://www.curreriviaggi.it/eng/autolinee.html
It's basically a shuttle between Sorrento and the airport and travel time is 1 1/2 hours. It doesn't go into central Naples at all. It makes a few stops between Sorrento and the airport basically at a few coastal towns/touristy areas (Pompeii).
A few years ago, Curreri didn't offer any Sunday service, but it appears they do now. If that turns out to be an issue, you can take the Circumvesuviana train Sorrento/Naples (4€ - 75 minutes) and switch to the Ali bus shuttle (3€ - 15 minutes)to the airport from Napoli Centrale or taxi.

If you are catching an international flight from Naples on a Sunday, I would agree with Sassafrass, and play it safe. Catch the train to Naples on Sat afternoon and stay overnight before going to the airport on Sunday morning. Much more relaxing, no need to stress about timings.

Thanks everyone! I took another look at my airline tickets and my flight is at 12:50. There's a bus that leaves at 8:30am and arrives at the Naples airport at 10am which will be perfect. Thank you so much for all of your help!
