Naxos information
Planning a trip to Greece that includes Naxos. Thinking about staying at Hotel Glaros or Sofia and Galini. Can anyone who has stayed in these hotels share their experience. What they liked or didn't like? I think e prefer to stay close to town and I definitely want a kitchenette and a veranda with a view of the ocean! We will likely be there during the month of May.

Of the three hotels you mentioned ( they are all within a 30 second walk of each other) Glaros has the best ocean view.
I do not believe any of them have a kitchenette.
Glaros does have a small refrigerator in the room. That is enough to keep a bottle of wine chilled and some taziki ready to go.
Glaros also have a studio apartment with kitchenette about 100 meters from the beach but of course you lose the ocean view. We will be at Glaros Studios in late may early June this year.

Thanks Stnbr
I noticed that you had stayed there and appreciate the comments. Can you recommend any particular unit? Do they provide breakfast? Any other information that you have to offer. Feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] with any advice you might have.

bobbit, I stayed at the Glaros in September and actually stayed in three diffrent rooms. The first room which was the last one at the end of the hall was small but clean and overlooked the street and the water. The second room was in the middle of the hall and was larger and the balcony overlooked a little market and St. George's Beach. The last room was on the top floor and was much larger, it had a tub in the bathroom an extra sink by the fridge and the cupbaords but I can't remember if there was a little stove. I have some pictures if you're interested but Alex and Popee at Glaros can answer your questions they speak english they used to live in Montreal.

Say,Stanbr and bobbit ... it sounds as if May is the in month. We arrive mid-day Sat May 27,thru Wed 31st.; we have a studio(w. kitchenette) at Sofia & Galini. My first stay at Ag. Giorgio beach but 6th visit to Naxos. Anyone interested maybe sharing a car rental for a quick round-the-island swing on Tues? Avoid the dreaded Group Bus Tour. I know all the spots to go to. You can get in touch via [email protected]. In any case, look me up at the hotel; ask for Janet K.
