Napoleon is Gone

For those who were concerned about the cat at the Bonaparte:

I am apprised by a recent visitor that Napoleon has gone to live with relatives in the South of France.

I hope that's the case
When I was a child my parents told me my elderly dog had gone to live on a farm in the country. It was kind of them.

I thought you were going to tell us they'd opened all those caskets (is it 6 or 7?) and the last one was empty. Much nicer to hear that this Napoleon is a cat and to visualize him lazing around in the lavendar fields.

Jean, if they open up those caskets the Grande Armée will assemble again! Imagine it--all those marshals, the beating drums, the tricouleur in the smoke ... best let sleeping emperors lie.
