Pal--A question, not an answer to No. 4: "This city sits about 654 miles NW of Rome in Lazio." Either the distance or the reference to "in Lazio" is wrong.

tom mn has 1, 6 and 9 right

We need name for the salt mines

Avignon - wrong palace of the popes! But it could have been 645 miles NW of Rome so I guess we'd give credit whilst still searching for the correct Italian town.

2. Wieliczka
3. Melk abbey
7. Is that supposed to be Schwerin? A bit far for a day trip from Berlin. Or is it Potsdam? Then the palace does not have the same name.

7 - Yes Schwerin - maybe a bit far but I did it as a day trip from Berlin - but good point. Quokka as usual is right on about all things in Germany and Austria.

# 4 and 8 still needs answers
