rome aiport taxis

Travelling to Rome. Three adults three large suitcases. Can the taxis carry all of us? I read on one website that the taxis are very small and does the 40euro still apply? Thanx

It's 48 euro flat-fare from FCO to within the Aurelian walls in Rome.
There are several types of cars, some larger than others, that should take three and luggage. Don't be intimidated into paying any more extras, like for passengers, luggage, time of day etc.

Or for peace of mind, you can pre-book airport shuttle service for a little extra.

You can round up to 50 euro if you like but not expected.

Be sure to have euros; while a lot of posters here said taxis will take credit cards, we did not find one. The ATM's at the airport usually have long lines so try to have at least 50e with you. We paid around 50e and it didn't matter if it was a mercedes sedan or beat up ford. Have the address of your hotel written on a piece of paper so you can give it to the driver in case his/her English or your italian is limited. Our hotel was great at arranging transportation back to the airport for our son who was leaving at 5am for a 7am flight and getting a taxi from the 'line around the corner' was unreliable at that time of day.
