Musee d'Art et 'Histoire du Judaisme, Paris?

Has anyone been to this museum who can comment? I'm in Paris for 9 more days, with a
Museum Pass, and thought this looked interesting. I'm not Jewish, but their history has always fascinated me. I have some day trips planned, but need sunnier days for those-
(Chantilly, Senlis, maybe Provins), and it's a little rainy now, good for museum days.

By the way, Paris was REALLY busy the last few days- VE Day Hoilday- so I avoided the Louvre and Orsay. Did less crowded places, English tour at Opera Garnier one day (beautiful building!), Mosque de Paris and their pretty little tearoom, and Chateau de Vincennes today. Loved that, and so easy to get there at the end of Metro Line 1, in a pretty little town. It's a wonderful 11th Century fortified chateau all still in tact. But I digress- this is about the Jewish Museum. Anyone?

We enjoyed the Chateau de Vincennes too. So few people see to go there and as you say, it is an easy ride and 2 minute walk to get there.

Musée Carnavalet - Histoire de Paris and Musée Marmottan are also very enjoyable.

yes, I've been to that museum a couple times (the Judaism one). I liked it, a lot of interesting stuff. I think it was well done and they have a decent collection. If you have a museum pass, it's free anyway, right? SO drop in, you don't have to spend a lot of time there if you don't like it. But I think it's worth going to.

Yes, I've been and found it quite interesting. I'd visit, sounds as if you have the time.

I was there several years ago. Not an enormous collection but some interesting things, certainly worth a stop.

I've been to the Jewish Museum and really enjoyed it. Here's what I wrote in my trip report:

"What a wonderful small museum. What I liked most were the photos throughout the museum of ordinary French/Parisian people and the short bios telling of their heritage and their feelings on being Jewish. My second favorite thing was the 19th c. wooden Austrian Sukkah hut (for the harvest festival) with three colorfully painted interior walls showing a view of Jerusalem, a shield with the first 10 words of the 10 commandments, and a view of an alpine town.

The museum contains illuminated Haggadahs (prayer books), 16th-19th c. marriage contracts, vases and other ceramics, Torah cabinets, 16th-18th c. circumcision implements, incredibly ornate 16th-17th c. wedding rings, paintings, menorahs, wedding clothes, and scale models of 16th-17th c. Polish wooden synagogues. "

Thanks to all for the replies. I think I will probably go by there. I'd like to explore that area a little, too.
Spent most of the day at the Louvre today - and didn't even get to the Italian art!
