Can anyone recommend the Hotel Blumental or Hotel Alpina in Murren?

Rick -

We've not stayed at the Alpina, but we've eaten in their restaurant and really enjoyed it. We've considered staying there, but usually end up at the Hotel Alpenruh instead because we tend to arrive in Murren a few days before most hotels open for the season.

The Alpina's balconies face the mountains and offer great views of the Eiger and Briethorn (as does the Alpenruh).

From what I understand the Hotel Alpina offers three star quality at two star prices (no phones in the rooms so ** rating).

Have a great time in Murren!
Rick - have only stayed at the "Alpenruh" and can recommend it highly. The view of the Eiger across the valley from our balcony was spectacular. No matter where you stay you will enjoy Murren!

We stayed at the hotel Alpenblick, which is near the railroad station. We had a room with a balcony with the mountain view. They had long bath tubs, (being 6'4&quot I could straighten out my legs completely, which was very nice after a long day of hiking. We ate at a resturant right by the watertrough along the road. A local place but very good food, had great fondue.
