We are planning a two week trip in June - spening a few nights in Munich, renting a car and driving (and exploring along the way) to Paris, ending the trip with 3-4 nights in Paris. <BR><BR>Is this doable? If so, which route would be best? We're thinking about travelling south of Munich through Innsbruck, then into Switzerland, then north into Paris. Making overnight stops along the way, of course.<BR><BR>Any help would really be appreciated!

hi there,<BR>shure it is possible. If YOu want to make stops on the route and travel on Your own it is the best way to go arround. There are so many thing to see on the route, difficult to give a choice. In Germany Neuschwanstein should be on Your way. In Switzerland perhaps St Gallen. IN France Dijon and Troyes, if You go a little more north Nacy is a pretty place. <BR>Remember to tell the renting agency You go to Austria and Switzerland. You need a special ticket to use their Highways (Autobahn).<BR>Have fun<BR>Gar

Hi Liz<BR><BR>It is doable, we have done similar trips with a few embellishments because we had 3 weeks and included Venice.<BR><BR>Do 3 things. <BR> First get a book like Rick Steves Best of Europe or other that promotes independent travel. It has suggested itineraries in it for guidelines. <BR> Second Get a good map or Europe Micheling atlas so you can visualize the distances and drives you are covering.<BR>Third - Use the web site Euroshell. It will calculate trip tics (free of charge). It provides detail routes when you put in the cities. It will give you driving times as well as distances in either kilometers or miles.<BR><BR>Ricks France book has wonderful spots to stop. Also has suggestions for hotels and miscellaneous including where to do laundry.<BR><BR>Good luck.<BR>
