Munich Hotel
Hi, We will be in Munich for a trade show in November. My husband would prefer to stay at an American affiliated hotel, if possible. Could anyone comment on the Marriott Munich, Hilton City-Center? any others to recommend? We usually stay at a small place in Lehel, but the price is actually more than either of those mentioned above. Price range less than 170 euros. Have AARP and AAA cards.

I have stayed at the Hilton City Center and have loved the area and the hotel. A mini shopping mall is located with the train station right underneath the hotel(take an elevator one floor down) which is nice when its gets colder. The staff are very helpful, the rooms are nice and there are numerous tasty restaurants in the area. One block up is a wonderful area for local shopping that has a very nice "mini Christmas market" during the holidays too.Sorry I cannot help you on price as the company I work for pays for it!

Thank you so much "dutyfree" (love the name!). Could you remember a restaurant or two that you liked and the name of the street for the local shopping? Using my AAA card to get a very decent rate.

You can check reviews for both hotels on tripadvisor.com.
Also, Marriott has a website for Rewards members where there are many comments about the Munich Marriott and the Ren across the street. If not already a MR member, you can sign up for free.
