Mountain sights in Poland, Slovakia and Hungary ?

Hi !

We are planing a summer 2025 32-38 days trip In Vienna, Southern Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. We Love mountains sights. We know there's plenty of them in Austria, but getting there would put us a bit out of our way.

Are Tatras (or any mountains range) are nice enough so we can skip regions in Austria like Salzkammergut ?

Thanks !

Yes to your question.

The High Tatras have a clearly alpine character. You won't see any glaciers, though. In addition to the High Tatras I strongly recommend to visit Mala Fatra - the Vratna valley with Velky and Maly Rozsutec mountains is very beautiful. The Lower Tatras are less spectacular but have nice grottos.

Agree with the above. The Tatras are serious. And I concur with Mala Fatra as well. But there are indeed other mountains, like the Pieniny in Poland. If I had the time, I would consider Slovak Paradise National Park, but it's not at all Alpine scenery.
