tuscanlifeedit, you don't have to go to avenue Montaigne or anywhere else in the Golden Triangle for good "shop porn." The 6th is great for window-shopping, and you will find a number of the stores you will find elsewhere in Paris, to wit; Kenzo, Cartier, Céline, Emporio Armani, Robert Clergerie, etc. The good shopping streets are rue de Rennes, rue du Cherche-Midi (which becomes rue du Dragon when you cross rue de Sèvres, rue du Four, all of bd Saint-Germain, and in the nearby 7th, rue de Grenelle, rue des Saint-Pères, rue de Sèvres (where you will also find the Bon Marché). The side streets off of all of the above have lots of wonderful shops.

If you are interested in food shopping, any of the outdoor markets are an experience. Some of them look like food museums.

It is called the Nemrod, and the quality of meats and wine is excellent.

Hope this helps. When will you be in Paris?

Oh, but a stop in the George Cinq or Plaza Athenee can only be done if you go to the 8th!

You could also have a nice lunch at Les Sauvers de Flora on ave, George V. Did that in Dec.
