Montparnasse to Gare de Lyon in 1hour or less can it be done?

My itinerary says that my train from Laval gets in at 10.22am at Gare Montparnasse and my train to Dijon departs at 11.23am from Gare de Lyon. I have luggage. Can I do this? This will be my first trip to France.

Can't always anticipate traffic, but that's plenty of time. There is a direct bus 91 between the two stations, but I imagine that can be a bit crowded for someone with luggage. Unfortunately there isn't a metro route that isn't a bit circuitous, requiring changes.

Sometimes, it's possible to reserve a taxi which expect you at your arrival and so no problem.

If not :
- by metro, difficult and not so easy with a luggage;
- by bus, direct Montparnasse/Lyon, line 91, normal time 26 mn.
The stop is on the left side of the railway station when you get out. Easier with lugagge than the metro...
But the safest is the taxi, with reservation because on a normal use(no reservation) the waiting time can be long, depending the day(monday and saturday busy, tuesday and thursday relatively quiet, wednesday busy, sunday no problem).

Reserving a taxi or shuttle might be a good idea as I've waited up to 30 minutes in the taxi line at train stations.

The 91 bus would be the most direct, depending on how much luggage we are talking about. I take that bus often and it is SRO sometimes around "rush" hours or early evening. But it might be okay at 10:30 am. However, if one has never been to Paris before, that might be a bit complicated and it is true, you can't predict how full it will be. If I just had one small suitcase (eg 20 inches or so), I'd probably do that at that time of day.

Thanks Fodorites,
You've given me quite a bit of reassurance. I'll reserve a taxi.
