MONTEROSSO - Anybody?
This year we stayed in Manarola and although we had a nice stay despite my accident we missed swimming after all the daily hikes. My kids and I loved Monterosso and we couldn't swim there more than one afternoon, so I'm aiming to stay there next year for 4-5 nights to repeat the hikes and do some soaking....
Advice on accommodations please?

Some years ago we stayed at the Porto Roca and loved it. It's up on the cliff and we had a big terrace overlooking the sea.

Well, it was a long time ago--11 years if I have counted right!
Anyway, it was wonderful at the time we were there. They had a private beach, where my husband swam.

Hi,
I loved the Porto Roca. We stayed there many years ago. We got the half board and the dinners were very good. We did not know what to expect from the food and we usually do not get half board, but circumstances made this best for us at that time. The food was great, the view spectacular, and the beach with the sunbeds and towels were heaven. Where ever you stay you know you will have a fabulous time.

We did an AMAZING hike from Levanto to Monterosso. So scenic and what a workout! It was inspiring to see groups of European seniors (Germans, Swiss, etc) do the same hike. Some of them were going the other way: Monterosso to Levanto.

Thanks for the tips.
I found an apartment in Monterosso for 85 euros a night.
I thought about Levanto also, I need to look into it and compare it to Monterosso. We missed the hike from Monterosso to Levanto, we did all the rest and we want more!
For my oldest Cinque Terre was I think the highlight of our trip due to all the hiking, now I'm aiming on staying there 5 or 6 days.
This time I'm taking my middle son also I need an apartment for the 4 of us, I can't do Hotels, to expensive.
