MONTEROSSO - Anybody?
This year we stayed in Manarola and although we had a nice stay despite my accident we missed swimming after all the daily hikes. My kids and I loved Monterosso and we couldn't swim there more than one afternoon, so I'm aiming to stay there next year for 4-5 nights to repeat the hikes and do some soaking....
Advice on accommodations please? |
We loved the Hotel Villa Steno when we stayed there in July 2007.Beautiful view and a wonderful breakfast. They will do your laundry (great treat with kids along)I don't remember the price of that though.....

Another vote for Villa Steno!

Some years ago we stayed at the Porto Roca and loved it. It's up on the cliff and we had a big terrace overlooking the sea.
http://www.portoroca.it/home_e.htm Well, it was a long time ago--11 years if I have counted right! Anyway, it was wonderful at the time we were there. They had a private beach, where my husband swam. Byrd |
We loved Porto Rooca too adn they have their own private section of the beach.

Hi,
I loved the Porto Roca. We stayed there many years ago. We got the half board and the dinners were very good. We did not know what to expect from the food and we usually do not get half board, but circumstances made this best for us at that time. The food was great, the view spectacular, and the beach with the sunbeds and towels were heaven. Where ever you stay you know you will have a fabulous time. Yipper |
Thanks for the replies. I'm checking on prices and I can't believe how much more than CT Monterosso is.

We loved the Villa Steno.
I think this says a lot about this hotel: there are no negative reviews of the Villa Steno on tripadvisor. pookymimi, have a great trip! |
We did an AMAZING hike from Levanto to Monterosso. So scenic and what a workout! It was inspiring to see groups of European seniors (Germans, Swiss, etc) do the same hike. Some of them were going the other way: Monterosso to Levanto.
|
I'm sure you know this, but Monterosso is one of the CT towns. It is more expensive than the rest of the towns.
What about Levanto with an actual swimming pool? That would appeal to me. |
Thanks for the tips.
I found an apartment in Monterosso for 85 euros a night. I thought about Levanto also, I need to look into it and compare it to Monterosso. We missed the hike from Monterosso to Levanto, we did all the rest and we want more! For my oldest Cinque Terre was I think the highlight of our trip due to all the hiking, now I'm aiming on staying there 5 or 6 days. This time I'm taking my middle son also I need an apartment for the 4 of us, I can't do Hotels, to expensive. |
Levanto is very charming. Less touristy than Monterosso.
|
Tuscanlife: Can you tell me which hotels in Levanto have swimming pools? Thanks!
