Mont Blanc tunnel

Is it possible to drive to the Italian side of the tunnel, turn around and drive back without having to go through the tunnel? If so how close to the tunnel entrance could I get. Thank you

Drive back to France without using the tunnel? Only by taking long detours, either going south to Turin and then west, or by going north to Switzerland over the St Bernard pass and the come back south via Vallorcine (check the Google map).

I'm not sure what the answer is, but I interpreted the question differently - is Kevin saying that he is starting in Italy, and driving to, but not going through the tunnel, and turning around? Not sure why you'd want to do this, but his question in his last sentence lead me to look at it this way.

The way the question is written I'm guessing homeland security is reading.

There is an autogrill operated by Sarni on the maps just before the entrance. Is that close enough for you?
