Milan help please
Hello. We need a hotel for 5 people- 2 adults, 3 teens- in Milan for one night. Arriving by train and leaving by air at Milan Malpensa. We have an afternoon tour set up. Budget $600 for one night for the 5 of us. We may do an airbnb. Is Brera the best neighborhood? Thanks.

We had this precise intention a few years ago. Our plan was to wrap up our trip by staying at one of the many hotels on the plaza around Milano Centrale for only one night...cheap and convenient, as we too were heading for the airport very early the next day. We did not realize the plaza outside our hotel was converted into an all night music and dance venue for dozens if not hundreds of restless young men each night beginning about 11pm, blasting super loud rap well into the morning hours. Mostly harmless, but loud...very little sleep, but in the morning we walked to the station for a direct and reliable train to the airport and the mashup was gone. An interesting way to wrap up the trip!

We once spent the night at the Sheraton MXP. Have no idea about your dates but rooms recently were about $200 and they have rooms with two queen beds. Train station directly under hotel and about a 50 minute ride to central Milan. Makes flying out easy.

A few questions. What are you looking to do in Milan (besides the tour?). When are you leaving in the morning? That might dictate where you stay. Are you looking for a charming place others would recommend? Convenience? It sounds like you aren't worried about cost, but the Malpensa express for 5 people is 65 euros.
We are flying out of Milan this summer and, based on recommendations here, opted to rent an apartment in Busto Arsizio (through booking.com) the night before. The idea was to do something low key and avoid crowds.

All depends on the check in time for your flight home. If it's before 10am:
Tower Hotel Malpensa at Busto Arsizio
500 metres from Busto Arsizio FN railway station.
Trains to Milan city center (30 min journey) and to Malpensa airport (10 min journey) every 10-20 minutes

hi there,
we are leaving in a month. The plan was to stay in Busto Arsizio the night before our flight but I can’t seem to find train info for Aug 24. Could you please help?

I booked a "Sheraton Club Lounge Access, Executive Guest Room". The Club Lounge Access was very nice with food and drinks. A variety of snacks, including ice cream (mentioned for the teens). My rate was $271.
It worked out well for me as well as a friend who was traveling with me but on a later flight. We enjoyed more time together and the club lounge. If not everyone in your party wanted to do the tour, that person(s) could stay at the hotel and relax while the others go downtown. I had a walking tour scheduled on a different day but there was a change of plans. The hotel was in a perfect location for what you needs (train in, flight out)
I don't know if they have rooms for 5 but 2 rooms would be at your price point, based on my November rate.
I thought I took photos of the club lounge but don't see anyone without us in them.

If you mean to MXP just put the information into Google maps. It'll show you the short hop train. It's a TreNord regional .

We stayed in an Airbnb in Brera. Good thing we didn’t stay near Malpensa!!! Our flight was canceled bc of a strike. We ended up booking a flight out of the other airport and took a taxi there our flight was at 7:30 am so we left at 3am! The drive was one hour.
thanks for all the replies
