Yours is one of the more frequent questions on this board and you may get a plethora of responses. The best answer is "it depends".
If cost is the main concern, the Air France bus (available no matter what airline you are flying) is a lower cost option. You may have to wait while the bus picks up passengers at multiple terminals. You can buy your ticket on the bus. From the drop point in town you may be able to walk or may need a taxi.
RER into town is also another lower cost option; you would need to collect your bags and get to the RER station at CDG and then get from the station in town to your final destination, possibly involving going up and down some stairs (never know when the escalator will be out fo service).
Shared shuttles are also available but waiting at CDG for the van to get a full load of riders and then possible stops at numerous hotels can extend travel time. If you are 2 or more the cost approaches that of a taxi.
For convenience and time, a cab is easiest as it is door to door without stops and you can pick it up at the taxi stand right outside each of the terminals. There is always the possibility of traffic jams, but at your arrival it should be OK. Cost is about 50 euro each way. If it fits your budget it is the way to go, IMHO.

There are several Air France bus dropoff points depending on your destination. Check the Air France site:

You may end up either walking from the AF bus stop to your final destination or you may need to take a short taxi ride instead.
Fares are also dependent on the route.

I just wanted to add to this thread': I love Paris, I love just about everything in Paris, but, I take the train only because in my experience, riding in a vehicle on the expressways and streets of Paris is terrifying!
I know you will all make fun of me, but you have now found my Achilles heel.

With respect to jet lag and luggage, there isn't much operational difference between the train and AF bus: in either case you have to find the place where you get on, buy a ticket, load and unload your gear, and flag a cab once in town.
Where are you staying? There might be a better solution for you.
