I went to Tripadvisor.com and found lots of comments about how close the hotel was to various sites. I also clicked on the map and info they have and found this, that gives you distances.
Main station – 200 metres
Swiss National Museum – 250 metres
Bahnhofstrasse – 1 kilometre
Cathedral – 1 kilometre
Zoo – 2.5 kilometres (1.5 miles)
Quays – 2.5 kilometres (1.5 miles)
Dolder Golf Club –5 kilometres (3 miles)

The Marriott is very walkable to the train station, go out the front door, turn left, walk straight down the street along the little river to the second bridge (there is a busy tram stop on a roundabout on your left here), turn right, cross the street and then the bridge, and the train station is the huge hulking building straight ahead on your same side of this street (you have to cross one more street and the tram lines to get to the entrance doors). Unless you have a lot of heavy luggage, it’s an easy 10 minute walk, but even with rolling luggage it’s all flat and sidewalk. You can see the train station from the hotel, it’s behind the gothic tower of the Landmuseum.
The hotel also participates in a shuttle bus service to the airport, I believe t costs about US$18 per person, this may be slightly faster and easier than the train. The bus takes about 8 minutes. Ask at the hotel about it. The train from the station to the airport is about 12 minutes, but you have to figure in walking time, getting there a bit early to find the track, buying the ticket, etc. so all in you probably need a half hour if going by train. If you want to take a taxi, the fare is about US$45 for the 8 minute ride. (welcome to Switzerland).

We have stayed there. The hotel usually offers good value for money - partly because it does not fit into Zürich skyline and architecture.
The distance to main station is about 600m - so walkable.
We took the hotel shuttle which departs every 30 min and found that a regulare taxi is less expensive, at least when you share a taxi with two persons. Taxi would certainly be the fastest and most convenient way, but you can also take the train - if you do not mind the way to the station.
