Marco Polo Airport Arrivals Hall

Is there a better meeting place at Marco Polo Airport than the Arrivals Hall,? It has been six years since we last arrived at this airport, which I remember as being compact and small.

We need to meet our GD, who will be arriving 30 minutes later than our arrival. We are flying in from JFK/NY, she will be departing from Gatwick.

Why don't you meet by the transportation desk to the left of Arrivals exit?

Or you could meet out front of Arrivals where the #5 bus leaves for Piazzale Roma.

How are you getting into Venice?

We will take a direct bus( ATVO )or bus #5 to Piazzale Roma +/- 20-30 min.

From Piazzale Roma we will take vaporetto #1 and get off at the 4th stop, which is San Stae.

That is a good option.

Or you could take the Orange Line Alilaguna from the docks at Marco Polo right to the San Stae stop.

The docks are a 10-minute walk from Marco Polo.

You buy your ticket at the transportation desk and continue left down the long corridor and go outside.
You walk down a path near a carpark.

I would meet at the departure area of the ATVO bus to P.le.Roma. Outside is nicer than in the terminal, you can get the tickets, and it's impossible to miss. The #5 now costs about the same because of an added airport surcharge, so the express ATVO bus is better because of the luggage storage.

dfourth,

Are there ATVO as well as Express ATVO buses? I agree, luggage storage underneath a bus is better than pulling the luggage up the steps.

There are no steps on the #5 bus.

There's just the express ATVO bus to P.le.Roma (ATVO is a long-distance carrier also serving Mestre and surrounding cities & towns): http://www.atvo.it/index.php?lang=en...id=35&view_pc=!

ACTV runs the #5 bus as well as the vaporetti in Venice, and local busses: http://www.actv.it/en/movinginvenice/movinginvenice
