Madrid - Hotel Carlos V

We are planning a trip to Madrid in March
with our teenage daughter. Has anyone stayed
at this Best Western hotel lately? If so,
what is it like? Will we be able to sleep at night or is it too much in the heart of
things? Thanks in advance

In the absence of any replies to your question - have you read the reviews on Tripadvisor and Venere ?

Not lately, but we did stay there a couple of years ago. On the subject of noise, we had a room (a triple) on the inside of the hotel. There was no view, but it was also nice and quiet IIRC. I don't know if there've been any changes in the rooms since we stayed there, but I recall that the bathroom was big and nice, and the breakfast was good.

I haven't stayed thre, but i walked past it. Yes, it is in a very busy pedestrian shopping area - litereally the heart of Madrid. Your daughter will love the busy shopping ambiance of the area, but you might get a lot of noise at night. The hotel looks fine from the outside.

We stayed there with our 2 kids. Our room faced the noisy side. There was some street noise and if you're a light sleeper, it could be a problem. I suppose earplugs would help, or you can request a room facing the quiet side.

We arrived in the morning (8:30am) and asked in advance if we would be able to check into our room when we arrived. Our room was ready when we got there.

Overall we were very pleased with this hotel. We had a quad, and it was quite roomy with a good sized bathroom. The staff was very friendy, and the breakfast buffet decent. We liked the area quite a bit. I short walk to almost everywhere, and a quick run across the street to browse around Il Corte Ingles. Il Corte Ingles also has a large grocery department, where you can pick up drinks and snacks for the room. The hotel is also very accessible to mass transit.

We stayed there several years ago and it was a good value. I do not remember a noise issue at all. We did a tapas crawl on some streets a few blocks from the hotel and it was wonderful. Our boys were younger and reluctant at the time but it ended up being great fun. Got the information from the Rick Steves guidebook.

My Husband and I stayed there 2 years ago. We were at the top floors, we liked it a lot, we didn't find it noise, the staff were really friendly, room clean. They offered breakfast included for your room and it was pretty decent. The hotel offered a shuttle service from and to the airport( I believe there is a fee but I don't remember). We definetly recommend this Hotel,we are in our mids 30ths.
I hope this will help you!
