I just saw an item on the CBS news that an ancient ramp between the Forum and the Palantine Hill has been restored and opened to the public. Wonderful news! But the best part was the additional news that a crowd-funding organization call "Loveitaly!" has been started to get people to donate toward more restoration projects of Italy's treasures.

How perfect is that? I'm sure our dear Loveitaly is smiling down.

Buon viaggio!

I have huge issues with these 'crowd funding' things. Who are the administrators and who is to say that they won't accumulate the money sent and just embezzle it all?
Unless it is an official Roman/Italian government site (and I seriously doubt it) then anyone who donates to it is extremely gullible. Generous - but gullible.

LoveItaly; A friend too all and I do miss her straight forward demeanor.

I felt like I had a friend forever.

I am smiling up to her in all the grace that she portrayed.

Dayle, I heard that news story on the radio while driving home from work and thought immediately of LoveItaly! Maybe she's sending a message from the 'beyond.'

Lots of transparency in the links at the bottom of every page. "Transparency & Best Practice," "Terms and Conditions," etc. Board members are listed with bio info.

I wasn't recommending anything because I didn't look at the org's website. I just enjoyed the lovely thought because it was so appropriate.
