It's the national flagship carrier, and sometimes that comes in handy at the national airports. Otherwise, don't know what to say, it's a major airline like any other, and in fact, if you connect in Europe, you may end up on LOT anyway going to Poland, as they codeshare with a lot of other major airlines (it's the same alliance as United, Lufthansa, SAS, Swiss, Austrian, etc). From where I live, if I want to fly to Warsaw on United, I'm flying LOT anyway from Frankfurt or MUC.
You don't say where you are flying from or what your choices are, but it's a major airline, I have nothing special to say about it. There are no cons that I can think of. Wihtin Europe, they fly small jets anyway, of course, like Embraer.

Our daughter and I had a LOT of First World frustration with our roundtrip from Vienna to Gdansk last summer with the airline: confusion with bag fee purchases; a broken luggage conveyor that delayed our outbound; no transport bus when we landed in Gdansk; and a two hour delay on the Warsaw (home base) to Vienna return. If I recall, I messaged DH something like, "Why are my people so inefficient? Communism is over."
