Looking for quiet hotel or B&B in Cinque Terre
We will be in Cinque Terre in early Sept. over a weekend. From my research it will be busy but still worth seeing. I have been researching places to stay. I would prefer Manarola or Vernazza. But open to ideas.Every place I've found reviews say " over a restaurant noisy til 2am" or " near the train tracks" or" lovely place but the church bells kept me up all night" Can anyone recommend a quiet place to stay with tv and air? We won't have a car. Thanks.

We booked a room in Manarola this past September through DA BARANIN Rooms,
Via Rollandi 29, 19010 Manarola, phone: 0187 920595 fax: 0187 920595.
The room was plain, but fine, with a good view of the sea. While the room was high above the station and mostly quiet it's virtually impossible to not hear the trains as they pass through the village. They were building what appeared to be a cover for a portion of the track that passes through the village, so when that's completed it should cut down on some of the noise. The windows did have heavy glazing so at night we keep them shut to reduce the noise. Be warned, it's a long, steep hike from the train station to the rooms at the top of the village. One hotel that looked interesting and was located nearer the station was CA' D'Andrean.
Don't miss the acciugha, the Italian anchovies in lemon and olive oil. Yummy with a glass of the local wine! Enjoy!

Buon Giorno,
We went to this chamring place last October for 2 night we paid only 42 Euro per night for a double room with private bathroom and a balcony. Ask for the Room Terrazzo if you make an advance reservation. Gianni the owner is fantastic.

Ten years ago, we stayed at the Two Star Hotel Stella Maris in Levanto. It is a charming hotel in an old palazzo, furnished with wonderful antiques and with a delightful owner. They have a website so they are still there. Levanto is a port city with a train station which gives access to all of the Cinque Terre. We loved staying there and recommended it to several friends who enjoyed it as well.

We stayed in a B&B (actually there was no breakfast) in Vernazza. The man who owns the room (there were three rooms on the side of the hill up above the train station) is Giuliano Basso, email address is [email protected]. The rooms were great - new and had a wonderful deck/patio overlooking Vernazza and the ocean. It was great! The price was also great - 62E per night - in October of 2002. The only negative was the climb up the side of hill - quite a few steps! There is a website: http://www.cdh.it/giuliano/
