Looking for clean, decent 1 or 2 Star Hotel Near/In Spello

I need a clean, decent room for one night near Spello. We already have an apartment rented in Chianti at the same time, so this will be on top of that. Would like to save some money, and would like to find something in the 50-65 ero range.

Do you know of such a place?

Hi Dog Mother,

I'm considering staying in Spello 1 or 2 nights in Sept. -- eveidently their high season. So far I've found a single for 100E.

If I find something, I'll post for you.

Buon viaggio!

Hello again, Dog_Mother,

Our paths have crossed a couple of times: Barberino Val d'Elsa, Al Campaniel in Venice.

I'm afraid 50-65 Euro will be very, very hard to find. When I was in Spello, I allowed myself one of my rare splurges: the Palazzo Bocci, a four-star hotel, but because Spello is so tiny, the rate there was considerably lower than at a four-star hotel in a larger center. I think there may be one or two one-star/two-star hotels in Spello, but I'm afraid I wouldn't know how to find them (they mostly don't have Web sites).

How about an agriturismo near Spello at 62-72 Euro? (At least, I think that was the price given; you'll need a magnifying glass to read the price list.)

Hi, Eloise and Dayle

An agriturismo would be great! as long as we can rent for just one night. I will check out the site you've provided. So many of them want a week's rent. Just to make things really difficult--I want it for May 28th--the night before the Infiorate. We are going to join Anne Robichaud's tour (www.annesitaly.com) at 7:00 am the next day (on Sunday) to see the floral designs. I would imagine it will be doubly difficult to find a room that night.

BUT, your help in finding something is greatly appreciate!

Hi again Dog Mother,

Eloise's suggestion sounds good. I read about the flowers festival - you must report back! Fortunately, there is a wine tasting festival when I'm planning to visit - so that's where I'll be!

Buon viaggio!
