Looking for a Hotel Near Naples Airport

My wife and I are wrapping up our honeymoon with an early AM flight out of Naples.

We're getting in from Positano the day before, and are looking for a (hopefully) inexpensive, safe hotel somewhat near the airport in Naples.

Alternatively, a hotel in Naples that can provide shuttle service to the airport would be great.

Does anyone know where I can find such a hotel, or have any recommendations? Thanks!

I stayed at "Le Fontane al Mare" located at Via Niccolò Tommaseo, 14 (011-39-081-764-3811). It is across from the beachfront and Castel dell'Ovo, and next to the Villa Communale (lovely park, Naples Aquarium is there too). It was a 10 minute ride via taxi from Naples Capodichino Airport and cost 20 euros. Alternatively, there is a local bus that can get you to the Napoli centrale train station and a shuttle bus that operates between the train station to/from the airport.

Another suggestion would be to contact 'Curreri Viaggi' via email([email protected]) to find about transportation options. The price of a taxi from Sorrento to Naples airport is quoted at 70 euros. Also, they have cars that can pick you up early from the Amalfi Coast towns and bring you into the airport. In September, Salvatore (of Curreri cars) came and picked me up in Sorrento and I splurged (70 euros) on a Mercedes drive into Naples Capodichino airport for our early return flight home.

Unfortunately,I don't have any recommendations, but I do have an "avoid-at-all-costs." We stayed at the Charming International Hotel, which is located just outside the airport (it claims to actually be inside the airport, but it's still a taxi ride to the terminal.) It had little charm and was not particularly international. It was expensive and the service was lousy.

Most of the better hotels in Naples can provide car service to the airport. Of the ones that we've stayed at in Naples, I'd recommend Hotel Excelsior or Grand Hotel Parkers. Hotel Excelsior if you want to get out and walk around the night before--close to Castel d'Ovo--La Bersigliera is right across the street and is a great little spot. Grand Hotel Parker if you want to stay in the hotel but have a fantastic view of the city.

I have never heard anything good about a Naples aiport hotel.

I would suggest that you other get up very early and have a driver take you from Positano to the airport, or book yourselves into a good hotel in Napoli and have the hotel arrange for a driver.
