Looking for a hotel in Toledo, and Madrid

My husband and I will be in Toledo and Madrid in early May, and are looking for hotel recommendations. We will not have a car in either place, and don't want to spend more than USD 200 per night on accommodation. Main interest in Madrid is the Prado, so easy walking distance to the museum is important. (Not looking for luxury.)

€140/night, including tax (?) does tend to limit your options. The price at the Hotel Prado in early May isn't too bad, but it will depend on your dates. Toledo will be a bit more expensive if staying in the city, even at a 3-star hotel.

just27, You are young! More importantly, did you check out maribel guides yet? Google it. You should find quite a few good recommendations (and all sorts of tips there).

We stayed at Hotel Prado last year and got a great rate in their website (approx 80 Euros), It was late in March, so it might be more expensive in May. The rooms were comfortable and modern, nice big bathroom. It is very close to Prado museum and also to Plaza Santa Ana where there are many places for tapas.

Thanks for the input. I just booked the Hotel Prado in Madrid (well within my budget) and El Cardenal in Toledo (still budget-friendly, and right by the old city walls). I hadn't come across Maribel's Guides before ... guess I'm just not sophisticated (or 27!) ...
