I just got back last week from London so I'll share some of my favorite Pubs that I visited on this trip. All of thes pubs meet my two most important criteria for a good Pub.
1)It must serve cask-conditioned Real Ale
2)The pub must have some historical significence.
"Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese"

"The Lamb

Hi there
some that I would recommend are:
Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese (Fleet Street)
Lamb & Flag (Covent Garden)
The prospect of Whitby (Wapping)
The Maple Leaf (Covent Garden - great if you want to catch up on the US sports)
The Old Bank (Fleet Street)
As a previous poster mentioned, it is really worth going on a pub walk, they really do take you to some great pubs and teach you a bit about the pub's history too.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Andy.
