If the strike continues for the dates planned next week, will the same lines/areas be disrupted? I fly into Heathrow the morning of May 8, so would catch the second strike on its last day if I understand correctly. I'd normally take the Tube to my hotel in Bloomsbury, but am wondering if I should make alternate arrangements just in case!

How long are these strikes supposed to last? Any word on further strikes besides the ones scheduled for next week?
Propita--I mentioned to you on another thread that you had commented on--the best thing for your blisters is to go to Boots and get some compeed. It worked wonders for us. Looking forward to a complete trip report.

Thanks, Patrick - I checked the link yesterday (very helpful, thanks!), and was hoping they'd announced what would happen next week already, but since that map has changed just between yesterday and today I'm guessing it's in a state of flux!

Now that the first strike is over, do we have any idea if the second planned strike (for May 5-8) will be occuring still? I checked the TFL website and there is no longer any information at the top, so I'm wondering if it has been called off. We are leaving today for London and will be there through next Friday. We as you can imagine have lots of travel/sightseeing plans that involve taking the tube next Tuesday - Thursday!!
If anyone sees any current information about next week's planned strike, could you kindly post it here? Thanks!!

Thanks. I'm using a bandaid, so at least it's not getting worse. I don't understand! These shoes were great! keeps! I've worn them for a week straight in the past with NO problem. Either way, were slowing down our sightseeing, having accomplished a lot of our main goals--and we have to have some energy left for Paris!
Oh! Had a great chat with an archeologist from the Museum of London who was stabilizing the old Wall just outside it! He was informative and terrific, like a private docent! If anyone goes there, he pointed out that the trees across the street (on London Wall Road) are from the churchyard Shakespeare went to, and that his house was just past that, though about 10-12 feet down (now an underground car park!).

Hi Propita--the compeed work ten times better than a bandaid--you will feel relief. I don't get any commission from the product--I just was glad the pharmacist in London recommended it to me when I had blisters and felt like I couldn't walk--it was very painful. Once I used the compeed it made a world of difference.
The Museum of London was a fascinating place along with the Roman Wall. Looking forward to the rest of your report when you return.
