London Hotels
Sightseeing in London for first time. Have been researching London hotels and it is very overwhelming trying to find a good, clean, affordable hotel with breakfast and ensuite when traveling on the cheap!
Have come up with the following:
Luna & Simone B&B, Belgrave Road, between Victoria & Pimlico Underground, expedia gives it a great rating for hotels.
Fitzroy B&B, Fitzroy St., close to Warren St., Great Portland St. Station and Euston Square Underground.
Can anyone comment on either of the above?
Or any other suggestions? What about location? We have found fairly good rates on both by doing searches. Have been reading other threads on this site. Please comment. Thanks.

If you can get the Fitzroy Hotel for a good rate ( I see Venere.com offer a double @ 80 British Pounds) go for it.
The locality is far better and closer to an underground station.
The B&B in Belgrave Road is a long walk from Victoria or Pimlico stations. A cheap hotel rate always has a reason IMHO.

Tod, do you know anything about Fitzroy, or are you choosing this one just for location (I know that means a lot though)?
I have found it even cheaper on Otel.com.
Luna & Simone was rated #10 out of 976 hotels for visitor ratings on Expedia.com. It's up there among much more expensive places for ratings so I was impressed by that.
It is more expensive than the cheapest I have found for Fitzroy. However, I don't want to go for cheap if the hotel isn't recommended for other reasons. Visitor ratings means a lot to me.

I have just checked again on Otel and found the Fitzroy for 55 BGP/twin room.
I am thinking there may also be a reason for the price here??? (this includes full English breakfast and VAT)...
Is this too good to be true? Has anyone stayed here?

raz1024 - Chosen purely on location.
I have stayed in the Bloomsbury area about 6 times, hotels have included:
Royal National, Tavistock, Ibis Euston, Travel Inn Euston, and a hotel right behind the Russell Square tube station called (I think) The International, something like that.
My choice now is always The Ibis Euston because it's so close the the underground station. At 89 BGP for two of us we thought that reasonable which makes your quote of 55 BGP with full English a bargain!
Don't expect a large front facing room -
usually the cheaper rooms are the ones at the back looking onto nothing but the walls of neighboring buildings.

Anyone else have any comments or suggestions? We don't really care if we have much of a view as don't plan on spending much time in room. But we do want a clean, respectable place to sleep that won't leave us regretting our stay.
One thing that concerns us, is that we havn't found any customer reviews on the Fitzroy...
Does anyone know why some establishments have so many reviews and others only have a few, or in this case, none at all?
