London Hotel--2 Adults, 4 Children
Does anyone have recommendations for an inexpensive hotel in London for 6 people? We will be flying into Heathrow in June, spending 2 nights in London, and then flying out again elsewhere. We plan to see a bit of London, and want to minimize cost. Thanks!

Tracy- The first time we went to London we stayed at the Kensington Moathouse (website is www.moathouse.com). WE had a huge room- it had a set of bunk beds just inside the door by the wardrobe, a king size bed and a couch that pulled out! More than enough space for 3 people! The prices are very reasonable. Another good dependable chain is the Thistle chain www.thistlehotels.com (I believe). Good luck and have fun!

Hi Tracy!!!!<BR><BR>Have you considered renting a flat for the 2 nights!!! It is definitely less expensive then a hotel and much more room!!!! I've posted before that we stayed at the Comfort Inn Hyde Park and rented a 3 bedroom apartment. Each room had 2 twin beds. There was a small, fully equiped kitchen with laundry facilities, 1 large bathroom with tub, and a small living room. There was continental breakfast included in the room rate.

Hi,<BR><BR>The Comfort Inn Hyde Park was clean and not worn out at all. The furnishing were functional, not particularly pretty, but clean and modern. The continental breakfast was extremely basic, toast, rolls, juice and tea/coffee. Not filling but enough to keep you going until lunch. <BR><BR>The building with the apartments in adjacent to the hotel part but when you check in you have to go back outside and next door to enter the apartment building. There is a small elevator if that is a concern. The breakfast is in the basement of the main hotel so you have to go outside to get to it. We could hear the people above us walking around which was a bit of a problem because they got up earlier and went to bed later than we did. <BR><BR>The area is very quiet with little traffic but the location is a reasonable walking distance to several tube stations (about 7-10 minutes flat walk). Also, you are close to Whiteley's which is like a mall on Queensway, bustling street with restaurants and grocery stores. <BR><BR>We would stay here again. It was nice having room to stretch out because the rest of our two week trip we stayed in one room B&B's which could be tight for 4 of us. We stayed in this apartment in the middle of our trip which gave us a nice break.<BR><BR>Make reservations early because I do understand the apartments go fast. We had reserved a 2 bedroom but received a 3 bedroom upon check in.
