Logging in & out

Just curious - do you log in and log out every time you visit this site or just stay logged in? Is there any reason to log off?

On my home PC I stayed logged in - no one else has access to it, not that there would be much advantage to posting on Fodors with my name!

On public PCs - in client offices etc - I log off when done, on those occasions where I access during coffee breaks etc.

Okay, okay. I forgot about people using this site at work. So I guess for home use it doesn't matter.

My trusty laptop travels between work and home, so that part isn't a consideration for me.

What are the advantages of logging in/out?

Fodors saves my login info when I come back on this website on the same computer. Advantage of being logged in is just to post, I think. Advantages of logging out would be that if you don't, anyone else who came onto that computer and got onto Fodors could post under your name as they "remember" your login. IN fact, even if they didn't know what they were doing, it would assume you were still loggin in, I believe. So, I would always log out on someone else's computer.

I stay always logged in as my computer at work is on high security personal password. Then the Technology department changed all computers to better ones... and I couldn't remember the password or it did not work... I lost my nickname and had to come up with this one and register again using my 2nd e-mail address. I am logged in forever again, hoping for no more PC changes!

Cigalechante - I didn't think Fodors allowed more than one login per person?

It's done if you use more than one computer in different locations. I have only one and not working to have access to another but If my job gave me access, I could.

Ok, based on IP address or something maybe? I use the same logon I use at home when I post from other people's PCs - it seems to let me log on from more than one PC without problem.

I don't think I'd dare to have two accounts surreptitiously - it would be too easy (I have an awful awful memory) to post under the wrong one and give myself away!!!

I wonder how many people have more than one account - no way of telling I suppose!

You can have as many nicknames as you want using different e-mail. Sign up with Hotmail or any similar, open 10 accounts, get 10 nicknames and full around as much as you want! Just remember the passwords
