L'Isle sur la Sorgue

Does anyone have any first hand information on the Domaine de la Fontaine in L'Isla-sur-la-Sorgue??

Not first-hand, but the Hunters Rivages "Hotels and Country Inns of Character and Charm in France" gives the Domaine a good review, if that's any help. It sounds easier to find that Mas de Cure Bourse.

But Mme Donzé's cooking is worth the little out of the way.

I agree about the cooking, Mimi, but I think for someone new to the area the Mas de Cure Bourse could be difficult to find (like the Bistrot du Paradou!!!). We spent about an hour and a half wandering around in the orchards before we finally found the hotel. But I suppose if one got directions from the hotel it would be a lot easier, and it's certainly a good spot to be.

I agree that the Mas de Cure Bourse is off the beaten trail but when we were there in March they had little signs all the way from the rotary to the parking lot. Maybe the signs are new but it made it very easy to get there. My husband did wonder where I found out about the place though.

Yes, I agree but, for both places the first time it was difficult for only the mas, that narrow road you must enter but after getting there, what pleasures we had

It's good to know about those signs--clearly we weren't the only people who got lost.

gracejoan - we are also looking for a place in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue for October. When are you going? Please report if you stay here - the website looks great!

It's not for me...it is for my nephew and wife who will have a few days at the end of a cruse before joining me in Villefranche-sur-Mer. This may be a possibility for them.

We will be staying at Mas de Cure Bourse for the 5th time. I love the fact that it is in the middle of parsely growing fields and fruit trees. It is very country and then..viola...you are in tres chic L'Isle sur la Sorgue town in about 4 minutes.
