Lion King London-Best Seats?
Have searched but haven't found my answer. We are planning far enough ahead that we can pretty much get any seats we want for the Lion King in London.

To maximize this experience, we want to choose the best. I would assume this is somewhere in the center of the orchestra stalls. Is this assumption correct, and which row(s) would you recommend? I have heard one doesn't want to be too close because then the actors look more like people than the animals they are intended to be. All help appreciated.

Mark,
Having sat in the front row, dead center at the theater in London for Lion King I can tell you that you do not want to be that close. I'd say about 10 rows back in the stalls(orchestra) or the first row of mezzanine. We did not enjoy the show at all (OK, so we are the only people on earth who did not like it) but the experience was not enhanced by front row seats whereas we've had front (or first 3 rows) many times at many other shows and enjoyed it thoroughly. You might enjoy having an aisle seat tho because the "animals" come down to the stage via the aisle. Other then that, just don't sit too close. I really think 1st row Mezz is the best for this particular show tho.

You could check http://www.theatremonkey.com/

I found this website when someone on this board recommended it a while back, and it is great!.

It has color coded seating plans for each theatre showing best (green), average (white), and worst (red) seats in each section. It also gives ticket prices, directions to the theatres, and often a mini-review of the play.

The specific url for the Lyceum/Lion King is
http://www.theatremonkey.com/LYCEUMbooking.htm

Enjoy London and the show!
