There are at least two LV stores in Paris, one on the left and one on the right banks. I know Harrods in London has an LV boutique, can't remember if the large Paris department stores sell it. I'd love to test all this when I'm in Paris in September but can't even affort two of their keychains! BTW, I have an LV tote bag and an LV gym bag, both in the monogram, which I would be happy to unload! Sorry, probably not appropriate remark for this forum but am only half-joking. On to ebay.

In France, it's illegal to refuse to sell something to someone; the fine is 1500 euro per refusal. Courts have allowed refusals for "legitimate motives," which include an effort to prevent gray-market resales. At least one extremely well known luxury retailer bases its regular refusals to sell to the "wrong people" upon this (I won't name names).
However, that same retailer also has a reputation for treating people who look Oriental differently from other customers, because of their fear of having their handsome Far East profit margins eroded by gray-market sales. Thus, having the wrong kind of eyes or skin might interfere with your ability to buy anything there. They also put credit cards on a database to track multiple, suspect sales, even though this type of database requires government approval in France (privacy laws), which they haven't necessarily bothered to obtain.
It's all an attempt to preserve gigantic price differences between the Far East and Europe. Greed overrides morality. You'd think that the fat margins obtained in Europe would be enough to satisfy anyone, but some people are insatiable. Greed also encourages the authorities to practice selective enforcement of the law.
It's all something to keep in mind when shopping.

I was also approached by an two young women who appeared to be from Asia several years ago to buy something at LV.
I actually did go into the store just to look around and there was something like an HOUR wait to get a salesperson.
UH NO? LOL!
