LHR Overnight Sleep

A friend, 60 yo woman, is traveling from AMS to HOU with an overnight at LHR. Does anyone have a suggestion for a low cost bunk for the night? Does LHR have transit sleeping facilities?

The only "inexpensive" hotel at LHR is the Yotel, which isn't cheap if booked for an overnight stay. They charge by the hour so great for a few hours but not for overnight.

The best options are just off the airport (all of the nearby hotels are on Hotel Hoppa bus routes so are nearly as convenient as staying in a terminal hotel.

To book directly, the best cheap option is probably the Premier Inn. But bidding Priceline would be cheaper and get her a 4 star place for usually $45-$65-ish.

usually good hotels ( high tripadvisor ratings) on www.hotwire.com for under $60.Much better than yotel.. or one could bid on priceline as mentioned.

Yes. I always just say priceline -- sort of a habit But Hotwire is good too and some like it even better since you get some idea of which property it is.

We stayed at the Sofitel last May for about $90. I think I got it thru hotwire.com. No breakfast but also no bus or taxi, walked right into the hotel from Terminal 5.

At airports hotwire is sometimes more convenient as it will tell you if there is a shuttle or not, plus breakfast, etc.and many times just a few dollars more than you can get it at priceline. but check recent wins/bids at www.betterbidding.com or www.biddingfortravel.com.

Many of the hotwire hotels have been identified on lists at www.betterbidding.com

Unfortunately not an issue at LHR. None of the hotels have shuttles. Hoppa buses serve all the off-airport properties. It is either the for-pay Hoppa, a short cab ride, or in a few cases the hotel is on a short stretch of the local bus route where they don't charge the bus fare.

I found a deal on Travelodge this summer. Paid 19Pounds for a night. Go to their website and log in and become a member. They will send you deals by email.
