All of you who love Paris.

Any comments on this restaurant? It was recommended, and I'd like your feedback.
Merci!

To 'top' or bring back a thread to the top and out of Fodor's blackhole you can 'top' the article rather than re-posting like so - and the other comments you have elicited will be kept

Sorry, I reposted because I couldn't find it. I'll try to be more careful in the future.

To find it simply click on your own name from another thread or put your own name in the search box. Anyway don't take offense - thought you may have been a new Fodorite. Good luck.

Great decor, mediocre food, according to a reliable foodie friend.

I would probably eat there once for the decoration.

Thanks for all the tips. I do know how to click on my name to bring up the posts, but for some reason it just wasn't happening.

Again. I'll be more careful in the future.

I've found that lately I can sometimes not access my own posts--it's a bit better in the last few days, but still pretty much hit-or-miss. So being careful isn't always the answer when the site is acting up.

We chose this restaurant for our "big splurge" some 2 years ago when I was in Paris on an all girls excursion. Everyone was from my home town in South Africa & I didn't want to disappoint.

The Food: excellent

The waiters: Great fun and very attentive (having photos with us & bringing over an entire bottle of liquer to pour over our Rhum-Babas!
Handing us a menu each to take home as a momento) You can't ask for more than that?!!

The Ambience & Decor: Stunning

Accessibility: We took a taxi but there is nothing wrong with the metro.

Price: For us, at our ludicrous exchange rate: VERY expensive -
For those with dollars/pounds - moderate.

Everyone should go there at least once.

We had heard the "iffy" food post so we went around lunch time and sat in the lounge of an absolutely stunning room, had a glass of wine and watched the folk gather for their lunch reservations. It was a lot of fun to do that, and imagine the beautiful leisurely times that prompted such a dining room. Then take a walk on the Viaduct des Artes nearby.

Are lunch reservations a) mandatory, or b) a good idea, or c) not necessary?

Reservations are mandatory if you don't want to miss your train.... and always a good idea even though the place is huge and sits 250 people.

What Gretchen means is "take a walk on the Promenade Plantee" which is the garden area above the art/craft shops below called the Viaduc des Arts -
An excellent idea! There is the most beautiful childrens playground at Jardin de Reuilly a bit further along the Promenade - then walk up to Place Felixe Eboue( on rue Daumesnil) where you will find the metro stop Daumesnil right beside three or so cafe`s.

While the garden on top is nice and fun, walking along the sidewalk and actually visitint the shops on the Viaduct des Artes is a very special treat. Do both.

Hi TP,

We prefer the back part of the resto. What used to be the smoking section.

It's a smaller area and not so noisy.

The room is terrific. The service is good. The food is a bit pricey for what you get.
