I don't know current prices. Rooms can be quite small, so I'd go for a decent hotel that offers a larger room, or perhaps two adjoining for the price you can pay.

last time I was there i took a peek at rooms at the Libertel Grand Turenne and they were clean and modern, but not too big. Often there are good rates for this hotel on the accorhotels.com websight. i would only use it if you can get a value rate, not full price.

If you aren't hooked on being right in the Marais I also recommend the nearby Britannique. Its more centrally located and very nice. It is located right near the Chatelet metro station which is in the dead center of the city.

Another small cute hotel I like is the Relais du Louvre which is located right next to the Louvre. It too is small and quaint, near the marais, but not in it.

One issue is air conditioning. Consider whether you want it or not, as that will likely limit your possibilities.

We were just in Paris a month ago and stayed at the Caron de Beaumarchais. I had 2 rooms for 100 euro each a night for me and my 3 children, ages 10, 12, and 14. The concierges at the desk in the lobby are unobtrusive, yet friendly, informative, and helpful. The rooms are newly decorated, charming, pretty, those facing the street have a narrow balcony with a table and chairs. The hotel was very quiet, well cared for, very clean. Bathrooms are large and modern, big tubs and soft robes. There is breakfast served downstairs, but we preferred to walk a few blocks to a cafe. There is a convenience store right on the corner, open late. Walk a couple of blocks to the left, get the metro St. Paul. Walk a couple of blocks to the right, get the metro Hotel de Ville. Tons of bakeries, boutiques, toy shops, book shops. Lots of people around at all hours, so feel very safe. I came back with my kids close to eleven o'clock at night - was absolutely fine. 5 minute walk to Pompidou Center, 2 minute walk to Ben and Jerry's (this made my 10 year old very happy). It also just seemed very convenient to walk over to the Seine and over the bridges to the Left Bank and the Ile de la Cite (Notre Dame, Vedettes de Pont Neuf...). Enjoy!!!

I stayed at the Libertel Grand Turenne last month for 130 Euro/night. It's in a great location, clean rooms, helpful staff. The rooms are not big but it was fine for me. Nice size bathroom.

The only issue I had was that I could hear conversations from the room next door. Fortunately, my neighbors (with child) did not stay up late and I really only heard them maybe once a day or once every two days.

I noticed at least a few families staying there, besides my neighbors.

The hotel is just a couple of blocks from Place de Vosges, easy walk to Place de la Bastille (less than five minutes), short walk to the Pont Neuf.

I may stay there again but will probably see what else there is in the same price range/location.

I stayed at the Lyon-Mulhouse on Beaumarchaise Blvd. Nice size room with 2 double beds; good sized bath with glass shower door (TV, elevator, all the bells & whistles...). Back in 2003, it was less than 100e's. I would recommend that. A block or two away is the Place de Vosges.

And at the upper end, I also can recommend the Hotel Relais du Louvre.

Eclair has it exactly right. The owners of the Caron, the Bigeards, pere et fils, are most cordial and helpful. We have stayed there many times and love the hotel.

The rooms are small but appointed with antiques. Our room had an exposed beam ceiling. You can have bkft in your room. Hotel has A/C. QWe prefer streetside rooms with balcony-though with a youngster you may prefer an inside room for him/her.

Better reserve quickly as this hotel has only 24 rooms. (We will be there in late June.)

-Mariage Freres, for lunch.
-Le Pamphlet , for dinner.

Both great.

Staff nice and rooms are very clean and of good size..Nice decoration...

We stayed in the Hotel Axial Beaubourg. It was 1 block to Hotel d'Ville and trains. Clean and very conveinent location for touring Paris and in your budget. Rooms were newly decorated. It was recommended to us by staff at Caron de Beaumarchais.

The Axial Beaubourg is in a great and very active location. I have passed it many times. i want to stay there some day!
