laurels B&B - Kilkenny?

Is anyone familiar with this B&B? Going to Ireland over the Xmas holidays, and the familliar names are all booked up, or closed for the holiday. Another one mentioned was the Fanad House?

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Well Debbie, apparenlty NO ONE has any comments on these houses! Sheesh! ....however, since I could at least find a PICTURE of the Laurels, and there was availability, I have booked it...I'll let you know once I'm back after New Years!

csr - thanks for the tip, but I did go out to Pat's site.
She does not list LAURELS under her Kilkenny list.
I tried to scan through her forum, but did not see anything there either.

Well , we stayed at the Laurels in Kilkenny last week ( April 03)
Pro's =
- Right off the main road into town, easy to find
- Local pub - Sceilp Inn - literally next door
- 15 min walk into the center of town, no need to move the car
- host, Brian, very friendly, willing to make suggestions

CONS:
- we had 2 rooms, the upstairs room was ok , Dbl & twin bed, SMALL shower.
The other room - oh my - was a true twin room. 2 twin beds in an L shape, as that was the only way they would fit in the tiny room. The Bathroom was so small, you practically had to step into the 2x2 shower to pull up your pants!!

- no lounge or area for guests, we had to go to the pub next door to sit and talk/ play cards.

- @ 40 pps it was pretty steep for such a tiny room.

I would consider staying there again, assuming I was assured that I would not be getting room 5 - the closet with 2 beds. --- Then again, there were lots of B&B's on College road, which would have been even more convienent, and possibly nicer.

Debbie
