We will be traveling for over a month and will need to do laundry in either Basel, Lauterbrunnen or Murren. Suggestions?

Ah laundry, always a challenge in Switzerland.

There's a waschsalon in Lauterbrunnen on the main street. It's the best option we've found in all our trips to the area as the machines are very similar to those we use in the US - large capacity and they don't take hours to run.

There's also a small washsalon in Wengen behind a hotel, whose name escapes me at the moment - I don't recommend this one unless in a pinch - we've spent far to many hours in there - the machines take forever.

I'll look up the hotel name and post back when I find it.

If you're staying in apartments by chance, there are usually laundry facilities in the basement of each building.

Note the machines often include automatic laundry detergent and generally cost 5 CHF per load.

Found it - the one in Wengen is located behind the Silberhorn Hotel.

Last time we used it it took us 4.5 hours and 24 francs to wash three small loads of light weight clothing. Hence, why I suggest you head to Lauterbrunnen instead.

Here are some in Basel. I think the first one is inbetween city center and the airport, which isn't that far actually. It has lots of machines anyway.
