Last Supper Tickets
Thanks to all previous posters for the website for cenacolovinciano. We are travelling to Italy in September. I tried to book tix for the Last Supper, but while it was processing (after I had provided payment info), I rec'd a msg the "the maximum amount of time to execute was exceeded". So, now I am not sure (tho very doubtful) that the purchase took effect. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this. I know I can (and likely will) call the service desk, but was hoping for some insight.
Also, would there be another reliable site to ck for tix? I had also read in one of the threads that new dates/times are posted frequently (vs the entire schedule set and made available).
If we don't get the tix I selected, we will not be able to go at all, so disappointing. I had thought a 2 month lead would be sufficient.
Thanks in advance for your helpful comments.

just ask the hotel that you are staying at in Milan to book a reservation for you....I emailed the hotel staff and they responded same day with email containing confirmation number.
Sometimes two months lead as you surmised may not be enough time. They can book up 3 months in advance . Think about it.... they only allow 25 visitors in for 15 minute intervals at a time, so its understandable that dates and time slots can be extremely tight.

Thanks, russwuf. Unfortunately (or rather fortuitously) we are not staying in a hotel; we are lucky enough to be guests of some friends. I guess I will keep cking the calendar to see if other dates during our visit become available. Thanks again for your quick response.

If it's worth it to you, you might want to book a tour that includes a visit to the Last supper, such as this one:

I would suggest to call the ticket office directly at 39-02-98421146 and talk to them, there is an English option on the menu and you will talk to an English speaking operator. You can also book for other places in Milan such as Pinacoteca Brera and you don't pay until you go there.

I'm glad to see this post because I had a similar experience just last week. I tried to book tix for Sept 6 at 3:45 pm. There were available slots and I put in my credit card info and thought it went through yet got a weird pop up screen about some protection program for my Visa card. I clicked out of it and before I knew it... the rest of the info was gone. I thought I remember seeing an order number yet, as of today, I don't see the charge listed on my credit card. I emailed [email protected] and have not yet heard back. My hotel is kind enough to try for me, but cannot guarantee anything. I'm still going to wait a few days before I ask them to do that.
Bottom line... from everything I've read and now with what I've experienced, you are certainly not alone. I really really would like to see it (like you) but have a feeling I won't. I'll cross my fingers for both of us!

I was trying to use the website back in February or March (can't remember for sure) when it suddenly went down. It was down for quite awhile I believe. So then one had to call, which I did, and I'm glad I did, because it was then a sure way to get reservations. I recommend it. Don't wait too long or you won't get any at all and it really is a not-to-be-missed item.
