Lansdowne Road, Dublin 4

Hello,

I will be in Dublin with my family this summer and we have an option of staying somewhere close to Lansdowne Road, DART Station and the Football stadium.

Is it a safe area to stay? I will have two small kids with me and hence the concern.

If you are familiar with this area, then please let me know.

Thanks,
Mita

If your safety concern is regarding the Football ground i believe it is being demolished at the moment. I am sure that there will be a couple of Dubliners along shortly to either confirm and deny and also give more general info on the safety of the area.

The Rugby ground is facing demolition and rebuilding shortly. That district is called Ballsbridge (part of Dublin 4) and is one of the best and safest largely residential areas of town, about two miles from the main shopping area in Grafton St. Best hotel there is the Four Seasons.

It's a very safe area - one of the most upper class suburbs of Dublin. The DART is a very handy way of getting to the city centre, and you're within walking distance of nice restaurants, shops and pubs along Baggot Street.

Stayed at the Mt. Herbert Hotel in that area years ago. It was very lovey and convenient to transportation.
