LA RESIDENZA , ROME

Has anyone stayed at La Residenza in Rome? Any feedback to share?

My son & daughter-in-law stayed there last year and were quite pleased with the hotel.
I've also read some positive reviews of it in travel books & on line.

We stayed there in a junior suite several years ago and found it more than acceptable. Great breakfast. Very helpful concierge.
The location, in the Via Veneto area, is not the best for all the sites you will want to see (except the Villa Borgese), but we are walkers, and didn't mind the extra 10 or 15 minutes.
It is a great bargain, and we are returning for a week in late September.
Have a wonderful trip.

My family of 4 stayed here last month and it was great. They gave us rooms #1 and 2 which were across the hall from eachother and had a private exterior door which made it especially quiet. The front desk gentlemen were very helpful and spoke excellent English. They gave us helpful advice such as restaurants, transportation, etc. It was a very clean hotel-the staff was always dusting, vacuuming (but not obstrusively). The hotel has about 3 lobby/reading rooms which were comfortable and nicely decorated. One evening the hotel hosted a reception with wine, cheese, and snacks. I liked the location-walking distance to Spanish Steps and Via Veneto. I would stay here again. A/C was a bit inadequate-it was very hot in Rome!

HartmannA and nellybs or anyone else who has stayed there - maybe Wayne also - did you stay at the La Residenza via Emilia? There are a few hotels in Rome with almost the same name so some reviews or posts are confusing. If you stayed there, what did you think of it? Are there any rooms we should request which may be better than others? We were told that some rooms have balconies. Are these worth asking for? We got a price of about 200 Euro - not really a bargain, but we do want to request the best room for our money. Thanks for your help.
