Krakow Hotels

We will be in Krakow for 6 nights in July, and I am having trouble comparing hotels. We want one in Old Town that is comfortable and quiet, and don't mind paying a bit more to find one. I am considering Pollera, Senacki and Wentzl. Can anyone provide advice on these three, or recommend others?

We stayed in the Hotel Wentzel in Sept. 2003 and were very pleased with it. Click on my screen name above to find my prior posts about the hotel.

Just spent 5 nights at the hotel Pollera. It's best described as a 3 star with an excellent location and priced right. Staff speaks english well enough and is VERY helpfull. I had a single room so it was typically European small however the bathroom was extra large for Europe and looked like it was just remodeled. Hotel is clean and quiet . I was satisfied for the price which included breakfast. Breakfast is usual cold cuts, cheese etc. However if you ask the waitress she will get you scrambled eggs for free.
All in all I would stay there again.
Have fun.

I can't compare those as I don't know them, but I can suggest the Pod Roza, where I did stay. That is a 4* hotel and just beautiful and very comfortable. It has an excellent location only about a block off the main square. It is a little more than the 3* hotels in town, of course, but a bargain compared to many other cities. Although the hotel is Polish, my room was not small at all -- it was huge, larger than any European hotel I've ever been in, and it also had a huge tiled bath.

I have thought the Copernicus looks wonderful, also, although the location is not as convenient as the Pod Roza.

I would check on the renovation, but the noise does not have to be a factor as they have many rooms not facing on that pedestrian street. I had a room that looked onto an interior courtyard and it was extremely quiet. They do have a good restaurant, but it is quite expensive in comparison to many others.

We've stayed at the Pollera twice and were happy both times. We had three people each time and had rooms much much larger than we have ever seen anywhere. It is in a great location with easy access to everything.
